On June 21st we will celebrate the summer solstice, which is the longest day of the year. The sun appears to stand still in the sky, and in fact, the word solstice is derived from the Latin word solstitium , which contains sol , meaning "the sun," and sistere, meaning "to stand still."
The solstice is an important time of year, a time of expansion, growth, and light. The summer sun brings us an abundance of creative energy and the power to materialize our actions. Celebrating the summer solstice can therefore be an opportunity to connect with your inner light and work on your personal alignment.
It can also be an opportunity to take stock of your accomplishments mid-year. Take a step back from your achievements and your motivations. Are they still aligned with your values and beliefs? And, moreover, are you questioning your beliefs to keep only those that help you progress?
The masculine energy of the summer solstice will help you take stock and materialize to move forward in alignment with your ideal Self.
Celebrate your joys, appreciate the beauty of life that is sometimes hidden in seemingly insignificant details.
The crystals I recommend for the summer solstice
For this season, I recommend the following two crystals:
- Citrine
Citrine is a luminous stone whose energies relate to the masculine and the father archetype.
It will reveal your inner radiance and allow you to distance yourself from what is happening to you, without judgment or devaluation.
It regulates excessive Yang energy (hyperactivity, agitation, insomnia, etc.) while bringing joy and optimism.
It helps us to free ourselves from the conditioning that locks us in and to understand that our fears prevent us from shining.
It distances you from the need to control everything and the perfectionism that separates you from yourself and sometimes from others. It brings you back to the path of natural confidence and reconnects you with your true needs for better alignment.
- Carnelian
Carnelian allows you to be attentive to your needs and puts distance between yourself and your emotions which can disturb your feelings and reduce your self-confidence.
It helps you refocus on yourself so that you can better capture intuitive information without being distracted by your mind. You can more easily get rid of preconceived ideas that you may have about your way of acting or your ideas. It frees you from the influence of others as well as your mind and gives you back the power to connect to your energies and to action.
The ritual I propose to you for the summer solstice
I suggest you honor this creative energy with a ritual around crystals:
- Hold your stones or jewelry in the palm of one of your hands
- Light a candle or an incense stick to cleanse your stones and aura. Practice deep breathing as if you were doing a cardiac coherence exercise. As you exhale, imagine all negative energy leaving your body.
- After about ten breaths, pronounce the following phrase “I cleanse and lighten myself of everything that hinders my freedom to shine” or imagine that you are saying it because the intention is essential whether it is in words or in thoughts.
- Close the hand containing your jewelry and set an intention related to raising your vibrational frequency. For example, “I raise the vibrational frequency of these stones so that they radiate an energy that connects me sustainably to my inner light.”
- Visualize a warm light radiating from the palm of your hand and feel how it warms your hand, then gradually your arm, your upper body, and then your whole body.
- Once the ritual is complete, wear your bracelet and/or necklace throughout the day and the following days
- You can perform a cleaning ritual for your jewelry when you feel it is necessary (see point 1 or the corresponding blog article)
- Once your jewelry is purified, you can recharge it by repeating the ritual.
This ritual can be repeated whenever you feel the need to strengthen your vibrational rate.
Here I'm sharing the steps of the solstice ritual that I practice, and that you can adapt according to your own practice. Remember that the main thing is to have rituals that are meaningful to you and in which you feel aligned with your intentions. You can set up a very different ritual; the important thing is to do it consciously and with an open heart.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this ritual and your spiritual practices for this solstice. Feel free to leave me a comment.
With all my love,
Stephanie, the creator of Stonology
